Balls!

I saw the nurse practitioner at my doctor’s office today and at least we have started to get the ball rolling on diagnosing this medical mystery. I’m not sure how hopeful I am about all of this. Frankly, I think the ultimate diagnosis will be endo pain even though the reproductive specialist doesn’t think so. But, we shall see. I am going to try to remain positive that we will find out what is causing the pain. At the same time, I’m also a little terrified that there may be something seriously wrong; but, I would think that by now, a 1.5 years after the pain started, that something terrible would have happened to to clue me in on something being serious. So I’m going to try to not let myself wander down that anxious path!

Nothing was abnormal during the exam of my pelvis, so we’re on to more poking and prodding. First up: Pelvic Ultrasound on Thursday. I don’t think it’s going to show a darn thing since my laparoscopy (when they were actually inside of me) didn’t reveal anything. Once we have the results, we will determine the next step. I just hope I’m seeing the right people to figure this out. I don’t think an ultrasound is necessary – but, maybe it’s just what needs to be done to begin ruling things out; or, maybe they need to rule out a reproductive issue on their own. I don’t know. What I do know is that the thought of having to go through testing to rule things out, little by little, is going to make me absolutely bonkers. But, until then, we wait…
